Abstract: The overall goal of this study is to provide insight into the role of physical activities in the rescue of obesity. Thus, obesity was seen as an imbalance in energy expended and energy intake. Obesity was classified as class I obesity (BMI 30.0 – 34. 9); class II (BMI35.0 – 39.9); and class III (BMI≥40.0) respectively. It was observed that diet, sedentary lifestyle, social determinants, other illnesses and genetic were major causes of obesity. Therefore, it was concluded that physical activities could rescue type – 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, respiratory diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, psychological problems, high levels of cholesterol (lipoprotein and triglyceride) and early deaths as consequences of obesity. It was therefore recommended that regular physical activities should be a part of our daily routine.
