Thus, sport was seen as a vehicle for achieving the vision of the world with less poverty, hunger and disease, greater survival prospects for mothers and their infants, better educated children, equal opportunities for women, and a healthier environ, a world in which developed and developing countries work in partnership for the betterment of all. It was recommended that policy makers, government and concerned stakeholders should integrate sport across a range of sectors, including health, educational, economy and social development in order to achieve the millennium development goals.
