|Abstract:||This study investigated the instructional problems of social studies teachers. The population of this study consist of all social studies teachers teaching in the Junior Secondary Schools in Edo South Senatorial District. Out of this number, one hundred social studies teachers were randomly selected using the table of random number from the twenty-two schools in the Senatorial district. Two research questions and two hypotheses were formulated. Data were collected through questionnaire designed by the researchers. The result revealed that there is significant difference between the experienced and the inexperienced social studies teachers in their use of instructional materials. There was also significant difference between the urban and rural social studies teachers in their use of instructional materials in teaching social studies. Based on the findings recommendations were made.|
