Abstract: The Computer Aided Architectural Design was recently heralded with a lot of fanfare without the essential issues being resolved. What is CAD, What should CAD do in architectural design? Now there are powerful and affordable personal Computers and 3-dimensional graphics is already in vogue, soon we will be able to do architectural design using 3-dimensional CAD. This article discusses the works of Prof. Yamaguchi and his group, Archigraf Group at the Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan who have been trying to answer the question of What is Architectural Design and have conducted research in the current situation and future possibilities in Computer Aided Architectural Design.
