|Abstract:||The manpower planning models in the literature have dealt with how changes take place in a manpower system, under various operating and policy constraints. However, none of these models has proposed a mathematical method for avoiding staff retirement posed by some existing models. In this paper, we have proposed mathematical method for stagnating staff at a particular lower grade so as to remove the pressure of retrenchment on the next higher grade. The proposed method is easy to use and a numerical example has been given to illustrate its use.|
